There were at least two notable events during our day.
1. During our dinner/grocery shopping at Whole Foods, we had two separate instances where we got in conversations with old people. This is interesting just because the first guy was amazingly unique, refuses to use computers, mocked me when I took a phone call, and asked Libby and I if we were eloping tonight. Then proceeded to give us advice on kids when we told him we had been married for two years. Truthfully, though, I enjoyed talking with him.
Then the second lady was actually talking mostly with Leila and Neibaur, but we saw the end of it. She was wearing a sweet new york city marathon jacket, which marathon she had done a few years back. Seemed very happy to see Leila and Neibaur's baby, Paulo, and to have a friendly conversation. Apparently Leila made her day, which is sweet.
I guess it goes to show that cold New Yorkers still need some love and affection. Especially old people. Man, it would be especially hard to live in this city if you were old!
2. Two separate instances where a pedestrian crossing the street during the appropriate time who is honked at or otherwise obstructed, lets out his rage by screaming and yelling at the driver in the car. Lovely.
