I've been lazy with the photo-a-day. The last two days I've spent way to much time in the apartment. Its surprising how easy it is to forget the bustling energy of the city.
So today was pretty great. Tried to get out of the house earlier for a run in the park, but the slush had taken over the city, and was not letting up. My new running shoes held up well for the first few minutes, but running in slush got old after 4 minutes, and I ran back inside.
At 5:30 I finally got out again to meet up with another photographer in Astoria. Ever since the 'big' snowstorm a couple weeks ago I've been excited about getting some good city snow shots, so I was happy to be going out. After our meeting, I made the long way home in the slush, stopping on 5th ave and also 7th ave to get these shots.
The highlight of the night was listening to this guy cover "Shelter" by Ray Lamontagne, adding a harmonica part to it. Although nothing could quite match Ray's voice, the harmonica earned $1 from me. Not that he needed it--his guitar case was filled with probably $50-$100, all in $1s.
I recorded part of the song (not the best part, though). Here's the link to my Facebook page where I posted the video: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?v=app_2392950137&ref=profile&id=1451463573#!/profile.php?ref=profile&id=1451463573
