Thanks for the pics from Lib.
This pretty much sums it up. Spent probably 5-6 hours today working on getting our licenses, NY insurance, and NY registration. Projects take forever here! But, we're almost there--if the car passes the emissions test, we're on our way!
I guess another thing I have been thinking of lately is fashion. I know, you're all surprised because I am so fashionable. ha. Honestly, I have never let myself spend money on nice clothes. The nice clothes I have are mostly Christmas gifts from our parents, along with some great buys from Lib.
There is really some great fashion here, though. Furthermore, I came out here intending to pursue photography--fashion photography being king here, I feel like I've had to think about it--so there. My dad has to be laughing at this point, if he reads this blog. We stopped by this small shop near St Marks today after getting some dollar pizza at 2 Bros. They had some really cool stuff that I wanted to buy Lib, but it was like $400. I'm definitely not to that point! Right now, there are three competing factors, maybe four, that are competing for my attention in this fashion question:
1. frivolous. sorry, that's how i feel. especially when you get caught up in buying things for the new 'season'. btw, flannel is/was back in style. and i threw all mine away like 8 years ago! but, it will be (already is?) out of style again very shortly! add to frivolous the thought of world-wide poverty, and i'm not buying the $400 dress. sorry lib.
2. reaally cool! great designs. it's art, it's expression, it's energy. i love to see stylin' people! and some people's outfits make me laugh!
3. the wallet. nuff said. i should be finding a job right now.
4. life-time and simplicity. i want something i can wear forever, but i don't want a lot. but there are also so many cool things to wear. back to frivolous..?
This is more of an exploration than a critical statement, and I'm trying to be honest. this is the problem i have whenever i go shopping.
I feel like I lost my manhood after writing this post.
You think you lost your 'manliness' writing about fashion?! ...you lost it when you posted your height and weight on your drivers license. So embaraaassssiinnngggg.
ReplyDeletehaha. J/k love, j/k.
It's wonderful to see you exploring with a truly open mind. Smooch.
at least YOUR driver's license doesn't claim that you're 4 ft 2 like mine!! haha!
ReplyDeleteMark Miller...metrosexual guy...can't stay away from the art museums and fashion windows...and it's only been 9 weeks in NYC...at this rate you may never, in your life, wear flannel again. dadm
ReplyDeletep.s. I like the dress.
